Lifeline Alerts ("we", "us", "our") is a safety monitoring service operated by Lifeline Alerts LLC. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

• Account Information: Name, phone number, email address, and emergency contact details you provide during registration.
• Device Data: Battery level, step count, heart rate, motion status, and screen state from your phone and wearable devices.
• Location Data: GPS coordinates from your devices, used solely for safety monitoring (geofence at home, detecting extended absence). Location data is stored with a 24-hour expiration and automatically deleted.
• Sensor Data: Human presence detection from in-home sensors, used to determine if someone is home.

How We Use Your Information

• To monitor your safety and detect potential emergencies (missed check-ins, extended inactivity, low battery).
• To send SMS safety alerts to you and your designated emergency contacts.
• To display your status on your personal dashboard (TV, phone, web).

SMS Messaging

By creating an account, you consent to receive safety monitoring SMS messages from Lifeline Alerts. These messages include:

• Safety check-in requests when potential issues are detected.
• Alert notifications to your emergency contacts when you don't respond.
• Service notifications about your account.

Message frequency varies based on detected events. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS at any time. Reply HELP for support information.

Data Retention

• Ephemeral data (heartbeats, GPS breadcrumbs): Automatically deleted after 24 hours.
• Account data (contacts, preferences): Retained until you delete your account.
• Alert history: Retained for 90 days for safety auditing, then deleted.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with:

• Twilio: To deliver SMS messages (phone numbers and message content only).
• Your designated contacts: Alert notifications when you need help.

Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. API keys are stored as encrypted secrets. We use Cloudflare's global network for DDoS protection and edge security.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at privacy@lifelinealerts.com.
